Australian/New Zealand RoboCup Junior 2009 success (note of local interest!)
While congratulations are due to all the competitors who managed to get to Graz Austria and compete to the best of their ability, special Tasmanian congratulations are due to Google supported Yaya Lu, entered as "RoboKid". Paired with the marvellous Japanese team "Rock On", she shared first place in the Rescue Superteams event. This the first time an entrant representing Australia (even if she is a New Zealand passport holder) has achieved a world first in the difficult World RoboCup Junior Primary Rescue event.
Congratulations also to Tasmania’s Google supported "REMWIZ" who gained the Collegiality award in Primary Dance.
Primary/Secondary School Divisions 2009
Teams consisting of participants all of whom are aged 14 or under were considered to be Primary School participants, and teams consisting of participants all of whom are aged 19 or under and with at least one participant over the age of 14 were considered to be Secondary School participants. Ages were calculated as at 1st July 2009. More information on this web page.
