RoboCup in Tasmania...
RoboCup has been running for several years in Tasmania. Entries come from both Private & Public Primary and Secondary schools. Each year a preliminary competition is held in the North of Tasmania, and finals are held later in the South of Tasmania.
In 2007, 2008 and 2009 scholarships were offered to assist teams to participate in the National RoboCup event held in one of the islands to the north of Tasmania, at the Gold Coast (2007), Perth (2008) and Sydney (2009).
In 2008 a Google Scholarship was obtained and the girl team (RoboKid - Yaya) from Princes Street Primary School in Tasmania competed in the World RoboCup in SuZhou, China. In 2009 two scholarships were obtained for two Tasmanian all-girl teams (REMWIZ - Devika & Mia, RoboKid - Yaya) from Ogilvie High School to compete in the World RoboCup event in Graz, Austria.
